Check out the websites I have added to the links section!
We have really been working hard on our writing skills in kindergarten. Last week for Kid-Writing students were to use color and number words to describe an animal. They did a great job. I will have to add a few pictures to show you how well they are doing.
In math we are really getting into addition. We are even working with missing addends already. I am amazed how well they are doing. We still need lots of practice but things are definitely moving quickly in the right direction! Great job with the math homework! Keep working on our high frequency words for reading. We will adding more when we get to unit 3. I really appreciate how the take home books are coming back signed. remember to have the students talk about the story as well.Have you checked out Think Central? Check out the link! Two hour early dismissal on November 26.
No school on November 27, 28, and December 1. Students will not have school on December 2. This is Parent/Teacher conference day. I sent book orders home today in folders. There is a letter attached explaining how to order on-line but if you prefer to write a check and send it back in your child's folder that is fine too! You can order from many different clubs by clicking on the tabs on the webpage.
There is no math homework tonight for k106 (9/17/14). We will be having our first test in math tomorrow. I feel the students are ready for the test. We have been working really hard writing and reading numbers and number words from 0 through 5. I want to say thanks for making sure you child has their homework in their folder each day! I also want to thank you for all of the supplies that have been sent in. (I have tried to keep up with the thank you notes.) We have received paper towels, tissues, hand sanitizer, and wipes! Thanks!!!!!! Please take time to go over the sight words in your child's folder each night. I can tell you have been doing this because students are beginning to read the words when they see them in stories we are reading and especially when they are reading books from their book baskets. One more thing! Please return the acceptable use policy paper that was sent home. I would like to put some pictures on our Weebly to show what we have been up to. I can't put pictures on until all forms have been returned. Thanks. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me using the "more" tab above!! August 2014
The year has begun! We have had a wonderful first week in K 106 and I am excited about the coming school year. I sent home the table of contents from our new math series so you can see what concepts we will be learning this year. Students will need to bring an art shirt to protect their clothes during art class. Please make sure to put your child's name in the shirt. Students will also need to bring an extra change of clothes incase of an accident or if they would spill their drink on them during lunch or snack. Sometimes students have fallen in the mud at recess. Please make sure the extra clothes are in a bag with the child's name on the outside of the bag. When sending lunch and snack money to school please put the money into an envelope with the student's name, room number, Teacher's name, and amount written on the outside of the envelope. This way the money will be sure to make it to the cafeteria and into the correct student account. Place the envelope into your child's folder. Students will be bringing a folder home in their backpack each night. Please remember to go through your child's folder each night and make sure to return the folder the next day. Papers that are in the "bring right back" side of the folder should be returned to school. Papers in the "left at home" side of the folder are to be left at home. Take time to talk with your child about the work they bring home. Please try to empty the folder each night if possible! If you need to send a note in to school please place it in the folder. I go through the folders each morning as the students are doing their morning activities. I have pictures and I will publish them as soon as I make sure all students can have their pictures on the internet. I want to thank you for sending your child to the Kindergarten Clinic this summer. It has really made a difference! Have a great Labor Day weekend! |
