August 2014
The year has begun! We have had a wonderful first week in K 106 and I am excited about the coming school year.
I sent home the table of contents from our new math series so you can see what concepts we will be learning this year.
Students will need to bring an art shirt to protect their clothes during art class. Please make sure to put your child's name in the shirt.
Students will also need to bring an extra change of clothes incase of an accident or if they would spill their drink on them during lunch or snack. Sometimes students have fallen in the mud at recess. Please make sure the extra clothes are in a bag with the child's name on the outside of the bag.
When sending lunch and snack money to school please put the money into an envelope with the student's name, room number, Teacher's name, and amount written on the outside of the envelope. This way the money will be sure to make it to the cafeteria and into the correct student account. Place the envelope into your child's folder.
Students will be bringing a folder home in their backpack each night. Please remember to go through your child's folder each night and make sure to return the folder the next day. Papers that are in the "bring right back" side of the folder should be returned to school. Papers in the "left at home" side of the folder are to be left at home. Take time to talk with your child about the work they bring home. Please try to empty the folder each night if possible! If you need to send a note in to school please place it in the folder. I go through the folders each morning as the students are doing their morning activities.
I have pictures and I will publish them as soon as I make sure all students can have their pictures on the internet.
I want to thank you for sending your child to the Kindergarten Clinic this summer. It has really made a difference!
Have a great Labor Day weekend!
